Watching the Tony awards this past Sunday, many a tearful winner uttered the prerequisite "Thanks, Mom!" in their acceptance speeches. But this year, a few Fathers were also remembered. Dads do get the short shrift sometimes when it comes to celebrating their contributions. But at the end of the day, when the kids are in bed and the chores are done, many a Mom is thankful for the partner they have.
Supportive words from Dad might not be as frequent as from Mom, but they are always remembered and cherished. Find a way to connect with Dad this year - if he's a man of few words, write a letter that shares how you feel. Maybe there's a special photo to frame and share with him what that moment meant to you, how it shaped you.
Make it personal. Make it genuine. Make it sincere. Just make it. It will be appreciated more than you'll know.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads, to all the step-Dads, to all the fill-in Dads. We need your strength. We appreciate your support. And we thank you for believing in us.
It made all the difference.
